Sermon Text: Matthew 9:35-38
Our God Saves
We begin with a reminder of the reason we have gathered — to worship our God who saves.
Jesus is the Lord
Our response to the revelation of Jesus as Savior is to declare Him as Lord. We sing of and anticipate the day that every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord.
Praise to the Lord, the Almighty
Jesus is not only the King of salvation, but He reigns as King of all things. As we sing this song, pray that the Lord would remind us of His rule in all aspects of our lives, and as we think of His good rule, we cannot help but sing, "Praise the Lord!"
Having been reminded that God is fully in control, we do not respond by boasting in the work of our hands, but in His work of salvation through the shedding of His blood on the cross. Christ is our only boast.
Christ is Enough
We respond to the preaching of God's Word by declaring that the Lord of the harvest, Jesus Christ, is enough. He is faithful to save and has made a way for us to be reconciled to God. As you prepare to respond to the Word of God, pray He would open your heart to hear His Word and respond with joy.
Let us come to our weekend worship gatherings as a people prepared.
