Christmas Eve, 8:00pm
Christmas Day, 10:00am
Kids will worship with their parents in this family-friendly gathering. We'll sing carols, read scripture, and take the Lord's Supper together. The two gatherings this weekend are identical, so you can choose the schedule that best fits for your family.
"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." — Isaiah 9:6
We gather every week to celebrate our Savior who has come to deliver us. In Christ, peace has come. Hope has come. Light has broken into darkness and God is with us, Emmanuel. As we prepare to gather, we reflect on a child born. We announce the birth of this child who is the promised Messiah, the deliverer.
Together we will sing familiar songs of Jesus' birth, starting with Angels from the Reals of Glory and The First Noel. We will invite our children to sing O Little Town of Bethlehem and Away in a Manger.
As we continue to sing of God's coming to earth as a baby, we will sing a song that is less familiar but a powerful declaration of Jesus' birth and sacrifice for us — God With Us.
This weekend, we have the opportunity to take the Lord's Super together, during which we will sing Come Behold the Wondrous Mystery, responding to the fact that the baby born is the Perfect Son of God who died for our sins.
As we close, we will sing Joy to the World. We often sing this of Christ's first advent, but this song was written of His second coming. "Joy to the world, the Savior reigns!" We sing with expectation that Jesus will come again to rule and to reign.
