With the advent of the Christmas season, we open our gatherings with a song of expectation and longing for the coming Messiah. We remind ourselves it is Jesus who is our redeemer and our hope; this long awaited baby is the savior of the world. A new chorus with this familiar Christmas hymn will encourage us as we begin our time together.
Come now great redeemer, come Emmanuel
Bless the nations with your presence here
Born our souls to rescue, born to save Your very own
Long expected Jesus, rule our hearts alone
We celebrate our Messiah who has come and saves. Jesus' birth, perfect life, substitutionary death on the cross, and His resurrection is our hope. As we celebrate the coming of Jesus, we sing of the salvation He brings.
As you prepare to sing this song, pray that God would use your story of redemption to stir your hearts toward missions and the need of those around you for the Gospel.
As the busyness of this season picks up, it is important to remember that Christ, and Christ alone, is our sufficiency. He alone is enough. He is enough for us. He is enough for the nations.
Our worship choir will lead us in a song that reminds us of God's glory coming down as a baby, yet this baby is King. Our response to the coming of Christ is the same as the angels, "Glory to God in the highest place."
Go, Tell It On the Mountain
We will respond to the preaching of God's Word with this song of commitment to take the light of Christ to a dark world. Go... tell it on the mountain, over the hills, and everywhere!
